Avatar Studios Launched, FHL Production Deal Signe

March 24, 2003
A deal has been signed with newly-formed Avatar Studios Inc, to produce the ADC FHL championship final. Announced today by Studio head (and ex-commissioner) Michael Griffiths and current league commissioner David Watson, Avatar will first release last year's 2002B final game.

The deal had been on hold for over three months due to a leadership change in the league. It was rumored that incoming league commissioner David Watson canceled the original contract at the last moment and was the primary roadblock to completing the deal. When asked about the delay at the launch party, Watson was elusive. "There were many issues, but everything is resolved now."

Watson wasn't singing the same tune two months ago. When stopped and questioned outside the league's Purdy's Wharf offices, the new commissioner stated "This Griffiths guy is nuts! He basically brokered a deal for himself that would have had an extra goal credited to him for every game he played in. I had to stop him - the integrity of the stats were threatened."

When asked about the sweetheart deal he arranged for himself before leaving office, the ex-commish and current player replied "How the hell else am I supposed to score?". Griffiths then pushed our cameraman down the stairs outside the Needham center before entering to play yet another goal-less game.

At the launch, both men appeared pleased with the new deal and were happy to put the difficult negotiations behind them. Terms were not disclosed but Watson confirmed that scoring summaries will remain unaffected. While the 2002B Final isn't expected to be available until later this week, bootleg copies are already circulating on the internet.
