Dogs Get Their Mombo Back!!!
Bull Dogs vs Sabres Recap
The drums were sounding and the Dogs were hounding and guess who led the charge?! None other than the Magnificent Mombo! Oh, does that have a ring to it or what baby! The Dogs blew the Sabres right back to Buffalo with a 16 - 6 thrashing. The Magnificent Mombo, as he will be called from this point on, scored 6 goals and added 3 helpers for the win.
We asked Gill what he felt was the big reason for his turn around. "Well, I got my hair cut back just before the season started, and it's no secret that it is really the key to my success, the hair that is. So, now it's growing back right, and that means everyone better watch out. In a couple of more weeks I think I'll be chalking up 12 to 14 points a game...unless i get it cut again." This is the first win this season for the reigning league champs.
Where there's smoke there's Titans????
Titans Vs Fire Recap
The Fire didn't have too much heat last Monday as they fell to the Mighty Titans by a score of 9 - 6. This one was close until the start of the third period when the Titans just proved to be too much for the Fire. Even though the Fire were not too hot tonight, there was lots of smoke though, at least that's what we saw coming out of Mark Thompson's ears after he was called for a Body Contact penalty shortly after he felt he had been run into the wall as he was running down the sidelines of the Big Floor Arena.
On another sad note, our reporters where on the scene and captured footage of a very disturbing nature. This footage was so graphic, that we could not show you what happened. However, Commish Johaan Tienhaara called a post game news conference so that he could address the media on the grizzly happenings.
"It has come to the leagues attention that Fire net minder Harvey Snelgrove during the game with the Titans last Monday, engaged in some rather disturbing behavior. He ran out of his net and started to jiggle his arse and flap his wings while squawking something like "hey macarena". This was apparently in retaliation for what he felt were non-calls during his game. We will be looking into his behavior and will address this in the coming weeks."
As for the non-calls, this reporter didn't really understand his complaints, as Rob Tyrrell was actually playing in this game, not reffing. We'll keep you posted on this one.

Lynx vs Chill recap
This game was probably the most important game being played this year as it saw the return of outstanding, spectacular and very very remarkable (and humble) goalie sensation Martin "Candy" Kane who played his first game of the season. He was just totally awe inspiring as he stopped 39 of 44 shots to back stop the Chill to a 13 - 5 win. Meanwhile the Chill team was a well oiled machine and just were too much for the kitty kats to handle. Chill forward and so, so goalie, Mike McInnis solidified his position on the team by scoring a couple and playing a well rounded game. Chill captain Adam Cowie had this to say. "Yea, it was good to see Mikey make his mark tonight. He did ok in nets but he's no "Candy" Kane, so I'm glad he can contribute in other ways"
(The comments made above are in no way the thoughts of Adam Cowei, the Chill team, this league and/or it's directors or anyone else in this league, but may have something to do with the relationship between Concarney and Kane...but we're not sure :) )
Good Heavens..what is this!
Slayers vs Hackers Recap
Ok, so the headline has nothing at all to do with the game, but give me a break, i ran out of good ones already! This game saw the Slayers dominate again as they improved to 3 and 0 with an 8 - 4 win over the Hackers. The good news for all of the teams in the league was the fact that the Hackers held the dynamic duo of Peter "the heater" Eddy and Mike "The Tall Guy With A Scruffy Beard" Cogdon to just 4 points each. Another note worthy tid bit of info was this. Although Richard Wanamaker scored his first goal in the first game of the year, the first goal scored by a REAL female came tonight as newcomer Kim Grover scored with a smoking splapshot from behind the icing line in her own end. Hunter was almost knocked off his feat by the shear power of the blast. We asked new comer Kelsie Trenholme what she thought of the goal.
"Goal Shmoal...I got a penalty. She didn't get one of those did she. Write a story about that next time Billy Bean Head!"
So that's how it looked from here folks. I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving. Take a look around and remember, we all have someone or something to be thankful for! And one parting thought, is a Sabre a Buffalo or a Sword? Throw your thoughts out there on our trash talking site.
This is Billy Concarney saying so long and be strong!
