So who's left? Fire overview

December 10, 2010
Burn baby burn, disco inferno...Ouch, these guys are hot coming off what I think to be an upset. Now, I know the Bulldogs were down a few men, but they had their guns there and the Fire just proved to be tooooo hot for the Dogs to handle.
The Fire are teh brain storm of Captain Rob Tyrrell. He has assembled a great bunch of players.
Lets take a look at their line up.
There are a few new faces. Rob "The Pitbull" Pittman is an import from Montreal. he has added some key goals but Rob has said his true calling is "D" and he fits in well. Also playing the "D" position is league veteran Sean "Bambi" Babineau, journeymen Roy "Chip" Monk and from time to time Dave "That's All" Foulkes has joined the group. these guys have come together at the right time to form a preverbial wall of Fire so to speak.
Up front it is no secret that Rob Tyrrell holds the key to victory. If you shut him down, you shut down their offense. Rob has been a staple in teh top 5 scoring year in and out since I have been reporting and you can bet he's going to get a few every game. Add Todd Mombo to the mix and you get a guy who's been playing the game for a long while with lots to contribute to any team. Rob "Feet Brush" Hanscomb has proven to be a guy who shows up to play every night as well. he can put the ball in teh net when he gets the chance. One guy we forgot to mention is Mark "The Butcher" Thompson. This guy has a shot like none other. He has the speed of a rabbit, the shot of a gun and will get under anyone's skin better than a parasite! He could play for anyone in the league and be one of the top "D" men on the team.
Last but not least, we have the goaltending position. This has been a challenge for the Fire as the league newbee yet a veteran at the same time, Blair "the Mare" Hammond has had a bit of a tough time getting used to the ball, but if last week's game was any indication, those days are behind him as he turned in one of the better games any goalie has played this year. He'll need to be at the top of his game this week as he faces the most potent offense the league has seen in a while in the Titans.
Good luck to them all!
