Halifax Floor Hockey LeagueAs you may or may not know, the trade deadline ends at 8:30 pm this evening and sources say that there is a wee buzz amongst a few teams. I'm Billy Concarney and I will be keeping the site up to date during the day to make sure we all know what is happening and the deadline creeps ever so closer.
Update:
Rumor has it that Fire management and Sabre Interim Management are trying to make a deal, but the two sides are not seeing eye to eye. We spoke with Fire Captain " Yea, we were contacted by the Sabres regarding one of our players who is currently under a no trade agreement. I told them that there was only one specific player I was interested in and unless it was him, then a trade was unlikely. That being said, I would entertain any reasonable offer but haven't seen anything that turns my head yet. We'll see what the day brings"
When we contacted the Sabres for a comment, we were told that they had nothing to say at this time.
Late Breaking news!!!!
Looks like no one is safe this year. Rumor has it that long time veteran and fat goalie Martin "Candy" Kane might be up for grabs if the deal is right. An insider for the Sabres said that there has been talk of trying to make a deal that would see Kane go to an un-named team along with another player for a goalie and a "D" man... oh and a carton of smokes as well. Again, un-named sources say a man only know as "The Smoker" within the Sabres organization is trying to see if this can be put together or not. We'll keep you posted.
