Who's in Second? Week 9 recap

November 21, 2012
Hey ho everyone and welcome to another week of The Night After The Night after. I'm Billy Concarny and this is your week nine recap.

Titans Win Again!

The Titans squared off against the lowly Chill in week nine action on the small floor. The game started out as a wash as the Titans came out quick with 4 goals. the Chill didn't melt though as they stayed in the game by scoring two of their own. the Titans finished the first with a goal and led 5-2 after one. The second belonged to the Chill as they tallied 4 goals against the Titans 2 and the Titans lead dwindled to 1 after two. the third was a bit tighter and the Titans sealed the deal by scoring two while the Chill scored one making this game a 9-7 win for the Titans. The Titans goalie, Marty "I Really Sucked This Night" certainly did not help his team in this one giving up 7 goals on 26 shots. Not a great game for him at all.

Bulldogs Take Another Beating

So we aren't sure what is going on with the toothless dogs...or even how they have managed to get 3 wins this year considering that they play with their best guys at home watching Monday Night Football every week. team captain Roger "The Dodger" Keating or Mr. No Show as the Bulldog faithful call him, was once again out of action for reasons unknown.
Tom Wynn faced 52 shots in this one and did all he could do but the chances were just too many for him to stand a chance. meanwhile at the other end, Chris "The Lucky Siv" MacKinnon looked weak early on and then his captain, Barry "I'm So" Coolen, told him not to let any more goals in and so it was.
This wasn't much of a game, pretty boring...Slayers win this one 9-3

Fire Scorch The Lynx

This game between the Fire and the Lynx was a very good game to watch. Jason "Boom Boom" Boudreau played his best game of the year making some great stops while at the other end of the gym Matt "The Cat" Warnell stood tall and answered the call backing his boys to a 5-2 win. The Fire picked up their 5th win of the season and might even have a chance to slide into second next week. we'll see.

Juggernaut becomes jugger NOT!

The Hackers rolled into this game with the highest goals bar none scored by any team in the league. They were a shoe in to win this game...but someone forgot to tell the Sabres. Heath "My Beard Is Pretty Cool You Know" Matheson stepped it up and gave his team a chance to get a win. Meanwhile Craig "The Gargoyle" Burgoyne let 7 in on 28 shots and wasn't his usual stellar self. Dave "Super" Cooper had his lowest producing game of the year picking up 2 goals and 1 assist, but has no fear of losing the scoring race with one game left. All that being said, it shoed that if you can stay wiwth the Hackers...they really ain't so bad after all. Sabres just out worked these guys. Looks good on the Sabres YEEESSSSS BOYYEEEZZZZZZ! Sabres win this one 7-6

So that's how it looked this week. Worth while to note that with the play offs rolling in in a couple of weeks. Next week will prove to be an opportunity for some teams to make a last minute move to move up in the seedings.
The team standings look like this:

1st Titans
2nd Hackers
3rd Fire
4th Slayers
5th Sabres
6th Bulldogs
7th Chill
8th Lynx

The Titans clinch first overall.
the Hackers will clinch second overall by the simple fact that they have a 28 goal lead in goals for department over the Fire. the Fire square off against the Titans and they hold a 3 goal lead in the goals for department over the Sabres.
The Slayers could move into third with a win over the Hackers and a Fire loss. If the Sabres can win big, they stand a chance to move into third with a Fire loss.
the Dogs could move into 4th with a win and some much needed offense and a Sabres loss. They actually will face each other next week so they hold the power in their hands. The Chill and Lynx face off to decide who likes the bottom.
So, as you can see, it's clear as mud and the movement can take place from third to sixth. Could prove for an interesting finish.
So there you have it folks. This is the way it looks going forward and the way it looked last Monday.
Hope all of you are having a great week. this is Billy Concarny saying so long and remember...you can lead a horse to water, but can anyone tell me what time it is?

Be Well Folks!
