Billy…Is…Back! Week 7 recap

April 25, 2023
Well well well…lookie here…it’s Billy Concarney here in da flesh and I’m gonna tell yous about last night!

First up we have the Fire vs the Lynx
This game was another dominant showing by the first place Lynx as they took it to the Fire fast and often. The Lynx scored the first four goals of the game and set the stage for the night.
The second saw the Fire open the period with a quick goal…but the were quickly doused as the Lynx ripped three more making it 7-1 after two.
The third saw the Lynx come out aggressively and they score three right out of the gate taking. 10-1 lead. The Fire answered back with three of their own but the Lynx grabbed a late period goal and when this one was ove, the Lynxtook a bite outta the Fire with an 11-4 win. Worthy notables, Shane Erb had a hat trick and Stu Whidden kept pace in the scoring race by grabbing 3 goals and a helper.

The second game of the night saw the Slayers taking on the Sabres. The Sabres were once again short benched and had one sub. The Slayers were loaded and ready.
The Slayers took notice opening the scoring as Matt Strum grabbed the first goal of the game. But the Sabres were not going to go down without a fight as they tied it up…for about a minute…then the Slayers stopped fooling around scoring 3 quick ones. The Sabres fought hard and got within 2 and the period ended up4-2 Slayers.
The Sabres caught the Slayers off guard as they added another goal and got with in one early in the second. But the Slayers added two more and when the period ended they had a 6-3lead.
The third saw the Slayers bring Moses into the fold as he parted the entire team more than once in this period. As a result they were rewarded with 5 more goals and the Sabres could only muster one more. Looks like the Sabres have goaltending issues as their keeper can’t seem to stop the best shooters in the league when they are allowed to run straight down the middle free as a bird. Shame on him…shame shame shame!
11-4 Slayers.

Last up…Chillvs Hackers.
The Chill were fielding 5 guys while the Hackers had all of their team.
The Hackers opened the scoring with a quick goal by Sheamus MacDonald on a pass from Joe Murphy.
But tonight…well tonight belonged toe Anil Snook, who answered back with the first of his 4 goals and he added another before he fed Liam Oxner and the Chill had a 3-1 lead, but the Hackers grabbed a late period goal whe. mark Duggan scored on a pass from Sheamus MacDonald. 3-2 Chill after the first.
The second saw the Hackers grab the first tally with Joe Murphy sniping a goal unassisted. The Chill answered back with two goals. But the Hackers kept pace and added two more of their own…but along comes Mr Snook taking his game to the next level and recording his hat trick. Chill go up by one with a 6-5 lead after the second.
The third saw the Chill take control and they added 3 more goals to their total. When the fat lady sang…theChill had won this one 9-5.
This brings us to ourKnapper Player of the Week who was none other than Anil Snook who had a stellar night with 4 goals and 3 helpers. Way to go Anil!!!

Well that’s all we got folks. It’s tight at the top but the Sabres and Hackers are bring things up from the reaper. With 3games left, it’s important for them to start playing to their potential.

This is Billy Concarney saying, yea this was really anticlimactic but you know…it is what it is lol
Stay well and be safe people!
