Halifax Floor Hockey LeagueFirst of all I wanted to thank you all for your show of support regarding my hospital stay, or as I like to refer to as my 6 days all expenses paid trip to the Queen Elizabeth Resort.
Everything checked out and I am ready to go. But thanks again.
For those who are sitting on the edge of your seats, the draft will take place tomorrow night and teams should be posted on the website by the weekend. You will receive an email from your captain welcoming you to the team and we already have the schedule up so we will be good to go.
We will be trying to tighten up the calls this season and hope to add some consistency regarding refs and so on. One major change will be the crease rule.
The crease is now going to move from the small yellow crease to the larger red crease. This basically means that if you are in the crease before the ball and a goal is scored, it will be waived off and defending team gets possession. Any contact with a goalie in the crease may result in a penalty. If contact impedes a goalies ability to make a save IT WILL BE CALLED as an interference penalty.
Outside of the things mentioned above, things are pretty much steady as they go.
We are glad that you all have showed interest in the league and look forward to our 36th season. Remember that although we all want to win, its not at an any cost mentality so make sure that we all keep that in mind.
So from myself and the rest of our league executives, let's have a great season!
Be Well Folks!
