So with out further ado... here she be!
Lynx vs Titans
This game was clean...which is our theme for the night. Not a penalty to be seen. Pretty nice eh!?
This was the highest scoring affair of the night. The Titans opened up the game with 4 goals vbefore the Lynx grabbed the next three. Score after the 1st was 4-3 Titans.
The second was a little more tame with each team trading goals, so no clear winner as of yet. Score after two was 6-5 Titans.
Third saw the Lynx come out hard and they were rewarded with the game tying goal...But that was short lived as the Titans veteran Trevor "The Law Man" Mcguigan grabbed his third of the night to take the lead. Roy Monk, then netted his third of the night and led er' up again...but the Titans Captain Scotty "The Hotty" Cross scored a natural hattie and put this one in the win column.
Notables for this game were Roy Monk of the Lynx who had one of his best ever nights grabbing a hat trick and two helpers. At the other end, Trevor Mcguigan scored three and added an assist, while Scott Cross earned this weeks Eastside marries Player of the Week honours netting a whopping 6 goals and adding a helper.
Way to go Scotty!
Titans win this game 10-7
Fire vs Chill
Well there was not much hot going on in this game. The Fire couldn't seem to shake the Chill and were dominated right from the get go.
Not offering much detail only to say that despite making some mother load saves, Boudreau got dinged 8 times while Kane, who was labouring to be kind, gave up 2 goals on 31 shots.
This one ended up with the Chill winning 8-2.
Notables were Louis Brill with a hat trick, Matt Power had 5 assist and a goal and for the Fire, Tyrrell added 2 more to his lifetime totals.
No Penalties!
Slayers vs Bulldogs
This one pitted the fast of feet high flying' Slayers against the rough and tumble Bulldogs.
The Dogs were still missing their star keeper Paul Highmore who's recovering from a lower body injury. The Slayers were all present and ready to play.
Ball drops and JD steals the ball from an unsuspecting D man and riffles the first shot of the game past Kane, who was filling in for Highmore., then the Slayers added two more to take a 3 zip lead into the second.
The Dogs came out with a quick one in the second, but the Slayers answered back quickly and then the teams traded goals. The Slayers take a 5-2 lead into the second.
The thirds saw the Dogs come out barking as they scored two quickies to get within one. But a few breakdowns in their own end meant that the Slayers grabbed 3 unanswered goals that put this more than out of reach for the Bulldogs.
This one ended up with the Slayers winning by a score of 8-5.
Notable were JD and line mate Kyle Bayers who each had "hatties" while the Dogs captain Good Caines picked up 4 helpers.
No Penalties folks!
Sabres vs Hackers
Last game of the evening. The Hackers won their first game and were looking for another. The Sabres didn't win their first game, but they didn't lose either. They were looking for their first win of the season.
The Sabres came out quick scoring the first goal of the game when Matt Duggan buried one on Zwicker, who was filling in for the missing in action Chris Layes. The Hackers answered back but the Sabres grabbed two more gaols and took a 3-1 lead into the 2nd period.
The hackers came out on fire in the second when Cooper picked up his second of the game off a feed from Tom Griffiths, but the Sabres recorded 4 in a row on the game sheet and this game was slipping away. Sabres up 7-2 after 2.
The third saw the Hackers mount a valiant attempt when they scored two goals early in the period, but Gargoyle Burgoyne tightened things up while his team scored yet another goal and this one was all over quick.
The Sabres remain unbeaten after the first two games and take this one by a score of 8-4.
Notables were Alex Gale who notched 4 goals and 3 assists while the Hackers Captain Dave Cooper grabbed 2 for his team.
And these guys went and ruined everything by taking penalties...3 out of 4 is pretty good dont you think!
Sp thats all she wrote ladies and gents. I'm sorry that this isn't as detailed as last week, but maybe next week things will be...a little more interesting...
