Letters, We Get Letters...

December 15, 2000
Dear Sir:

I write to protest the outcome of last night’s ADC Bronze Medal Floor Hockey game between the Keane Chill and the Keane Lite-Sabres. It is clear that due to the confusion surrounding the final score, the goals must be re-counted. Until this is done, the people of the ADC and indeed the people of Canada will never be certain who won their bronze medal. And as we all know, nothing is more important to Canadians than who wins their floor hockey games. The goals must be counted.

I understand an effort is currently underway to have the Chill’s "victory" certified by Mr. Michael Griffiths, ADC Floor Hockey League Commissioner. But Mr. Griffiths cannot be an impartial arbiter of this matter since he also captains the team whose win he will certify! This is obviously a conflict-of-interest of the highest order. Unless Mr. Griffiths recuses himself from this duty, the Lite-Sabres will have no choice but to escalate this matter to the Supreme Court of Canada.

In closing, I must emphasize that the Lite-Sabres’ effort to ensure a fair and impartial recount of these goals is not driven by a desire to win this game for themselves, but rather to ensure the future integrity of the ADC Floor Hockey League, the single most important entity of our organization (outside of the SQA Group.)

Count the Goals!

Respectfully,

David Watson
