Elementary My Dear Watson

March 21, 2001
Watson - a newly acquired member of the Vicious Keane Fire - (a third round draft pick resulting from the Griffiths trade in 1999). Watson exclaimed that the gear used in the League is stopping his progress in scoring. I have never seen gear (goalie) this big since the Mike Griffiths Hockey School for goalies who use couch cushions. Watson was quoted as saying "Nairn and Michaud are having meetings on the matter as we speak. There is no way I should be scoring less than once a week!" Watson is a natural grinder and fore-checker but has a problem beating goalies when in close.

Barriault - captain of the Keane Fire was not available for a press conference on the accusations (Ziggy) made about goalies in the ADC FHL. Apparently he was administering the Mike Grifffiths Goalie school for - "Wo! - who shot that son of gun?"; a subsection of the Mike Griffiths Hockey School for goalies who use couch cushions.

Chris McMaster of the Lite-Sabres was quoted after Tuesday nights game, "I deserved that 91% Save Percentage tonight- so what if I suited up in my Over Head Bin! I disagree with the Watson statement. I feel that not only are goalies getting better but the players are getting smaller and physically becoming more like programmers and thats the real problem - crazy or what! Peace out!"

Watson interjected at the end of McMasters comments - "Who you calling a Programmer? I work for a living; as my fans say - it's elementary!" This is the second such statement that Watson has made about the league in his two-season career. Perhaps the gear does need to be looked at and the height restriction for the entry draft.
