Fire vs Lynx
Rob Tyrrell opens the scoring, 1 zip Fire. Sam Whidden answers back. 1-1 after 1
Fire grab two more in the second thanks to rookie phenom Justin Logan. He scored from Joe Murphy and helped out on Paul Changs goal and it was 3-1 after two for the Fire.
Lynx claw back with two quick ones in the third but the Fire grab two of their own and we actually have a real hockey score. 5-3 for the Fire as they get the win.
Sabres vs Slayers
Welcome to the Chris Inness show. , well at least it looked like it to start. Chris scores first two and then sets up Brett Dempsey for an early three goal lead. Then each team traded goals twice and after the first the Sabres had a 5-2 lead.
Second was all Slayers on the game sheet with two unanswered tallies. 5-4 after the second.
The Sabres came out with two quick ones after some sloppy play by the Slayers giving them a 7-4 lead. But the Slayers fought back grabbing the next three and we had a ties game. Then …as he always does…Marty blew it calling a penalty on Adam Mackenzie for a questionable trip, and of course the Sabres capitalized and win 8-7. Groan…thanks Marty.
Chill vs Hackers
Aiden Walsh making a statement to start this one off and gets the 1st periods only goal.
Things were all good, until a controversial call took a goal back from the Hackers. Then things got a bit ugly. Penalties happened and words got said. Aiden Walsh scored his second from Fitz on said power play. Matt Strum scored a loner, then Aiden capped a hatty from Anil…4 nothing Chill after two.
Anil Snook started the third with a goal from Mr Strum …power play…Aiden grabs #4 on the night…Peter Regimbald has a shutout going…but Myles Raymond breaks that up scoring one from Sam Halliburton to close out the event.
All said and done, Chill win 6-1
Peter Regimbald gets this weeks player of the week awards after his great game. Well done young man.
That’s all she wrote, well actually all I wrote.
