Halifax Floor Hockey LeagueThis is Billy Concarney with a short wrap up for tonight’s Semi Finals.
Lynx vs Hackers
This could have gone either way judging by how the teams played in the weeks leading up to this battle.
But…the Hackers absolutely stifled the Lynx in this one. They just could not get going.
Rylan Smith led the way for the Hacks with a steal liar performance racking up 4 goals and a helper. Craig “The Gargoyle” Burgoyne was steady Eddie facing only 20 seats, but he was cool as a cucumber.
The Hackers win this 8-2 and head to the finals.
Slayers vs Fire
This was another game that could go either way, especially after the game last week that was decide by one goal.
The Slayers came out gunning and scored three unanswered goals to take a 3 zip lead after the first.
The Fire weren’t going to just roll over though and they grabbed 5 goals to the Slayers 1 and they had a 5-4 lead after the second.
Now, despite Bob Strum battening down the hatches, the Fire just blew up in the third led by the dynamic duo of Logan Jeddry and Joe Murphy. Joe tallied 6 times and added 3 helpers while Jeddry had a hat trick and 6 helpers. This propelled the Fire to an 11-7 win and punched their ticket to the big dance.
So there you have it, the one and two seeds will face off at the Fish Bowl next week at 7:00 PM
Who will win…Fire or Hackers…only time will tell!
That’s all I got for this week!
This Billy Concarney saying so long and all the best
