Rob Tyrrell tied for the 3rd highest goal total in history with 56. That was the second highest debut for a rookie. Shawn Currie is the record holder for both records -- he scored a whopping 95 in his rookie season.
John Price finished one away from his own record of 6 game-winning goals in a season. Tyrrell finished with the fifth best total ever, with 4 GWG's.
As far as Save Percentage is concerned, Lynx goaltender Tony McCarthy finished with the second best total of all-time, with 83.9%, just 4 percentage points behind Chris McMaster's record setting mark. Hackers goalie John Dulong set a personal record, and notched the 4th best percentage ever, 83.2%.
McMaster broke the all-time record for total saves in a season with 2001B. He limped over the finish line with a 28-save performance, to set the new standard of 370 saves. Chill goalie Michael Griffiths is now 5th all-time in the same category, after his 340 save season.
There were a couple of single-game record performances by goaltenders. On November 1st, Slayers goalie Paul Chui faced an amazing 82 shots in a loss to the Chill, good enough for 3rd all-time. His 68 saves in that same game was good enough for second-best ever. Keane Fire goaltender Harvey Snelgrove got his name on the records page by facing 75 shots against the same Chill team. That was the 5th-highest total in a single regular season game.
Dulong, playing for arguably the best defensive team in history, stopped all but 2 of 36 shots against the Lite-Sabres on October 25th, which worked out to be the third-best single game save-percentage in history, 94.4%. Dulong holds the record with a save percentage of 100%, as a result of his shutout against the Slayers in 1999B.
