Chris Davison scored 5 of the 6 Lynx goals, while Peter Rankin scored the other.
Neither of the two team's captains were present to be a part of this clash between the league's top two teams. But with the loss, the Lynx slip into a tie for second overall with the Sunnydale Slayers. The Hackers opened up a substantial 5 point lead over the two second place teams.
The game started with goaltenders from other teams (Harvey Snelgrove and Michael Griffiths) filling in for absentee netminders Jason Chan and Tony McCarthy. But McCarthy and Chan eventually showed, making this the first game in league history with two mid-game goalie changes.

The late game on Thursday featured the Keane Fire and the last place Keane Chill. The Chill finally debuted their first string goalie Jeff McCarthy. McCarthy's presence kickstarted a Chill team that had been mired in turmoil since Michael Griffiths handed over the captainship to Greg Foran in the off-season. The Chill, led by budding superstar Tony Joyce, jumped out to a commanding 5-1 first intermission lead.
The Fire were missing many players, and played with only one substitute. Unsubstantiated reports suggest that of those missing players, Barrie Harvey, Steve Chiasson and Trevor Murphy were out stealing candy from unsuspecting trick-or-treaters.
Despite only having one sub, the Fire grew stronger as the game progressed, but ran out of time as the Chill hung on to a 10-8 victory. Joyce remarkably had a part in each of the Chill goals, scoring 6 and assisting on 4 others. Joyce surpassed the 100 career point plateau in the game. Jehad Chedrawy led the Fire with 2 goals and 4 assists, while Kevin Haddad scored 4. With the 4 goals, Haddad moves only 4 goals away from becoming the second player in the history of the league to score 200 career goals.
